The NSW Government is again backing the Beatles Festival with a $5,000 grant, Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams announced today.
“The Beatles Festival is growing in popularity with not only our local community but also with people from outside our area enjoying the festivities,” Mrs Williams said.
“The survey results from last year showed an increase in visitations from throughout NSW, but there is still more work to be done to attract a wider audience.
“The funding will be used to help stage the event as well as to undertake further research to enable the economic impact of the festival to be quantified,” Mrs Williams said.
“This is important to local sponsors, local tourism industry and of course to the Government’s Agency, Destination NSW to secure future funding.
“There are a range of events being held over the weekend with something for everyone including Beatles music concerts, a dance party, car show, Beatles trivia night and of course the very popular Beatles Breakfast at Rose’s Vineyard.
“I encouraging people to get behind the festival and show support for not only the fabulous music of the Beatles but also the hardworking committee whose passion for the sound of the 60s will again come together this weekend,” Mrs Williams said.
